The final battle between Acoustic Rocker Kris Allen and Glam Rocker Adam Lambert for the American Idol Season 8 title yielded almost 100 million votes nationwide. After the 2-hour star-studded finale, underdog Kris Allen emerged as the winner which came as a shock to most people, including the judges (who seem to favor Adam Lambert since the first performances).
Even Kris himself didn’t expect that he’d win, saying to Ryan Seacrest after the announcement, “It feels good, man, but Adam deserves this.” Afterwhich, he receives his trophy (first time on Idol) and sings his victory song (and the would-be first single on his album) ‘No Boundaries’ co-written by new judge Kara DioGuardi.

i wish Kris would embrace his victory better, maybe he just needs some time for it all to soak in… he’d better not wait too long, though, Adam’s already swooping in to steal his thunder
