17 Again
Popular high school senior Mike O’Donnell (Zac Efron) is a star athlete headed straight for a college scholarship and has a bright future within his grasp when he decides to give it all up to share his life with his high school girlfriend Scarlet and the baby he just learned they are expecting.
Twenty years later, an adult Mike (Matthew Perry) finds his life is not exactly what he expected. He is separated from his wife, Scarlett (Leslie Mann), living with his best friend Ned Freedman (Thomas Lennon), passed over for a promotion at work, and his relationship with his teenage kids is non-existent. One day, he decided to return to his high school to reminisce over his basketball awards and the life he could have had. But after a short encounter with a mysterious janitor, by some sort of miracle Mike was transformed back to the age of 17.
Young Mike returns to Ned’s house and tried to convince his best friend that he is in fact Mike. Ned, finally convinced, helped Mike to go back in high school and finish the life he never had the chance to live. Having the chance to recapture his best years as a 37-year-old-trapped-in-a-17-year-old-body proved to be a really difficult task for him, especially when he’s going in the same school as his children. The more difficult thing, however, is realizing that he hasn’t been a very good father and husband. Now, he must find a way to transform back into his older self to win back his wife and kids and continue on with the perfect life he never thought he already has.
