Amanda Van Cooll in Survivor Philippines25 year-old construction worker Amanda Colley Van Cooll was hailed as the sole survivor for the second season of reality TV show Survivor Philippines. She garnered 4 votes from the jury against 3 votes received by transsexual beauty queen Justine Ferrer. 3rd placer Jef Gaitan, a 22 year-old print and commercial model, didn’t receive any votes.

Rio Hosts 2016 Olympic Games

Katy Perry The supposed Philippine concert of international pop star Katy Perry this coming October 3 was postponed due to Typhoon Ondoy.

Instead of the originally set Katy concert, MTV Philippines (producer of “Katy Perry Live in Manila”) is now planning to hold a benefit concert with American Idol runner-up David Archuleta and Boys Like Girls joining Katy.
