Red Dead Redemption, an open world action-adventure western video game from Rockstar Games, has just been announced as Game of the Year at the 2010 Spike Video Game Awards. Besides bagging the big prize, it also took home 3 more trophies – Best Song, Best Original Score and Best Downloadable Content.
Other multiple honorees are Mass Effect 2 (from BioWare/Electronic Arts) which won Best Xbox 360 Game, and 2 other prizes; and God of War III (Sony) which won Best Playstation 3 Game and Best Graphics.
Major winners included Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Nintendo) for Best Wii Game, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty (Blizzard Entertainment) for Best PC Game, and God of War: Ghost of Sparta (Sony) for Best Handheld Game.
Spike TV’s 8th Annual Video Game Awards was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, who also won the Best Performance by a Human Male award for providing the voice of Peter Parker / Spiderman in Activision’s Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions.
